TV Celebrity Chef, Andrew Zimmern, Visits the Ranch

Zimmern visits Jackson County

Andrew Zimmern, Travel Channel superstar and host of Appetite for Life: Southern Hospitality was in Jackson County, Ala., this week visiting the Crow Mountain Guest Ranch to film an episode of his show.

Zimmern is currently on the ultimate road trip for good and is concentrating on tornado relief efforts in areas damaged by the April 2011 tornadoes.

The web series is produced by MSN and features southern culture and cuisine.  

Zimmern is a James Beard award winning TV personality, chef, food writer, teacher and is regarded as one of the most versatile and knowledgeable personalities in the food world. As the co-creator, host and producer of the Travel Channel’s hit series Bizarre Foods, he travels the world exploring food in its own territory, wherever it’s found.  

The web series, Appetite For Life, is in its third season.

While visiting Crow Mountain Guest Ranch, guests went trail riding on horseback and ate fried wild turkey and deer, southern chili, braised beef short ribs, fried grit cakes with roasted jalapeno and turtle Creole sauce picante, pulled pork and green tomato cakes.

The series will air in November 2011.
